  30.     Under what conditions did it occur? We cannot see the binary values
  31. because Mail/News often does not preserve them (is not 8-bit clean). However,
  32. taking a guess, the string probably containts 8-bit control codes which 
  33. require no action at the "terminal" until an ST control code is received
  34. to terminate them. Those would be standards defined control codes. It's 
  35. in the Kermit manual. The quick cure is to press ALT = to perform a terminal
  36. reset.
